Jan Blanc is Professor of Art of the Early Modern Period at the University of Geneva. His research focuses on Flemish, Dutch, and British art and on artistic theory and practice. Among his publications are Peindre et penser la peinture au XVIIe siècle (2008); “Rembrandt and the Historical Reconstruction of His ‘Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis’” in Myth in History/History in Myth (2009); and Vermeer: La fabrique de la gloire (2014).
